Information for Parents

The biggest challenge facing the world today is Climate Change, a global issue, which demands global action. Climate change is frequently in the media. It is an issue that young people are very aware of and often feel powerless to do anything about.

Renewable energy and its related issues of climate change and sustainability are covered within both primary and post-primary curriculums. Renewable energy offers a solution to help combat climate change. It is the future of energy, today. Northern Ireland is already using renewable technologies and there is great potential for even more use in the future.

The Primary and Post-Primary Education Programmes allow students to understand more about these issues. The programmes aim to increase knowledge and understanding, raise awareness, engage and empower young people to make informed decisions and to take action. Even a small action makes a difference.

The Education Programmes are designed to provide pupils with clear and up-to-date information, with examples from Northern Ireland and throughout the world. They are also packed with fun activities and an innovative 'Renewable Robbie' game.
